This is a Next.js app and it is broken down into three main parts: collect, request, and organize.
collect is a tool for adding something to the inventory of everything.
request is a tool for requesting something from the inventory of everything.
organize is a tool for organizing things and requests.
This means:
Images are uploaded to Firebase Storage on submit in collect and request. Need to investigate if this upload is optimized: should images be resized prior to upload? Should we enable a firebase function to resize images or can this be done client side?
Images are loaded from storage on Organize and on Thing + Request pages. Currently using the Next Image component. Can this be lazy loaded? What is a better UX while images take time to load? Placeholders?
