Have a look at fetchcode/package.py , and try to implement the same for Maven packages.

Is it about parsing the response of https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/junit/?
the response object doesn't contain the JSON object
we can parse HTML, but this doesn't give you vcs_url bug_tracking_url declared_license

Is there another registry that responds with JSON objects?
