Ability to keep lower resolution images on phone after upload #1490
Comments
That is a really nice idea! |
what do you think @tobiasKaminsky @mario @nextcloud/designers ? |
Nice idea for budget phones with small storage. Questions is, how hard is it to implement? |
I am unsure, having the same name, but in fact a different file, is nothing I feel comfortable with. Have you seen #69? Maybe this is enough for you? |
@tobiasKaminsky Yes it would feel something like a hack. |
After an image has auto uploaded, it would be nice to let me keep a lower quality version locally on my phone, with exact same path as the original. This way I could use normal gallery app on my phone to browse all my photos, without thinking too much about storage use.
This would not be the same as using the app to browse images, as that needs to fetch the thumbnail/preview from server. What I am asking for is to generate that locally before deleting the uploaded image to server.
