Support for Nextcloud 28

Explain the Problem

After the upgrade to Nextcloud 28/Hub 7 the UI - in detail the sidebar of unread articles - is not working properly:

System Information

• News app version: 24.0.0
• Nextcloud version: 28
• Cron type: system
• PHP version: 8.2-FPM
• Database and version: Postgres 15
• Browser and version: Firefox 120.0.1
• OS and version: Windows 11 & Mac Sonoma (both most up to date versions)

Yes, the stable version doesn't support nextcloud 28. It should have prevented you from upgrading.

Interessting as the link says highest supported version would be NC28:

Downloaded 25.0.0-alpha2 which works with Nextcloud 28.

If someone installed Nextcloud 28 and still want to use the News app please use the current 25.0.0-alpha versions.
They do work with Nextcloud 28 but has some limitation compared to the previous versions due to rewrite to Vue.js.

I am already using the alpha version and didn't see any issues preventing me to use the new version.

I just changed the update channel from stable to beta. NC immediately offered me the update to 25.0.0-alpha2, which I installed. I changed the channel back to stable and News is working again and looks better than ever!

No, you are not alone. I assume the new version will improve over time.

They are not implemented yet, someone needs to pickup on that task 😊

But we decided to go with the new Vue release anyway and until the app has all the important features we will stay alpha/beta.

For feature requests a discussion is the best place. We're aware of features that are not reimplemented in Vue though, since those are in the Vue pull requests.
