Another tool to add would be the selectable area zoom. I would envision some sort of lasso or rubberband operation.

Additionally, a selectable area details would be useful (e.g. min, max, histogram plot...)

This is a probable To-Do list.

Add minimum, maximum and histogram distribution to ROI.
Ideas include color coding the min/max in the table. and creating a histogram output with this information.

Also, include a masking ability to a selected region.

What looks like a bug also is to fix the reset_defaults. This is not adequately clearing out the tools.

That last bug was fixed a while back. The ROI portion of this discussion has been completed.
