We need to create material to tell the story of what a simple SS3 model does to beginners. For example:
a. here is how SS3 uses F parameters to match each year's catch
b. here is how estimated selectivity allows fitting to the age composition data
c. here is how the collection of age composition data informs estimated time series of recruitment
d. then how those recruitments are deviations from this esteemed spawner-recruitment curve
e. then the survey trend
f. then benchmarks, maybe
g. then forecast
This could be a slide deck, or other format if something else seems better suited.

We could consider creating a Shiny app. For example, this MSE app was to teach stakeholders about MSE. There are also some "education" use case examples in the shiny gallery.
I think it would be a great goal for this year to create better training material for beginners. This also might help us learn about creating teaching material for FIMS.
