Hello NocoDB team, let's talk about dependent lists.
Case:
Tables:
thread_type {Title:varchar; size:m2mthread_size}
thread_size {Title:varchar; type:m2mthread_type}
Generated m2mthread_type_thread_size {id_thread_type:FK_id_thread_type; id_thread_size:FK_id_thread_size}
I am facing a problem. We have M2M fields that create a linked table m2mthread_type_thread_size.
If i add new column in m2mthread_type_thread_size {id_thread_type:FK_id_thread_type; id_thread_size:FK_id_thread_size; id_product:FK_id_product} for
product {Title:varchar; type_size:o2m_m2mthread_type_thread_size} table we no have good way for select correct values for product table type_size field. BCS this field has many records in m2mthread_type_thread_size table.
If we can change type_size column from product table from O2M to "Dependend lists" field type, we can drill down our selection to correct value.
In "Dependend lists field" type edit dialog need setup Dependend order for m2m table (if we have more than two drilldown list) like as add filter condition dialog and select primary display value.
Add value popup dialog start recursion SELECT DISTINCT
dependend_order
FROMm2m_table
; and INSERT INTO m2m_table (dependend_order) VALUES (selected_value_from_popup); for each Dependend order step. Popup dialog box not closed and start new cycle.In Dependend lists field type/edit dialog select primary display value as thread_type_size field from m2mthread_type_thread_size table.
Where m2mthread_type_thread_size {id_thread_type:FK_id_thread_type; id_thread_size:FK_id_thread_size; id_product:FK_id_product; thread_type_size:formula_CONCAT(LOOKUP(id_thread_type;thread_type;Title);LOOKUP(id_thread_size;thread_size;Title))}
I do not know what formula sintaxis will be in NocoDB, suppose LOOKUP(search_value, search_table, result_value)
