The Node.js Foundation is doing a spotlight series around the contributors of Node.js; the series is titled How I Got Into #Node. You can find posts in this series on the Node.js Foundation Medium page and the Node.js Collection publication.

It asks basic questions around how you got into programming, how you got into Node.js, when and why you contribute, how you contribute and advice that you would give someone if they are interested in contributing.

The purpose of the series is to give a face and background to those that are contributing to Node.js and hopefully encourage others to contribute. Below are the questions for the series - if you are interested in being featured, please send these answers back to my email zkeaton@linuxfoundation.org.

I've posted this in CommComm already, but if you would like to include any other working groups to this discussion or individual contributors, please feel free to add them in.

Cheers,
Zibby

Question 1: When did you start getting into programming in general?

Question 2: When did you start using Node.js?

Question 3: What intrigued you about Node.js or what prompted you to use it vs. another platform/framework?

Question 4: When did you start contributing to Node.js?

Question 5: Why do you continue to contribute? And how do you contribute?

Question 6: If someone is interested in contributing, what advice might you provide them?

Question 7: How do you use Node.js (either at work or outside of work)?

@ZibbyKeaton ... Thank you for organizing this. Perhaps pushing this through the community committee will be more effective as it does not appear to have generated much response on this side. Going to go ahead and close this issue for now.
