Adding a comment because I've had the same issue since I downloaded the extender. Mine's a day one issue and I've not seen anyone else outside here mention it. I've redownloaded and re-replaced the extender files repeatedly so that's not it and I've deleted the files from the appdata folder and that didn't seem to work either. The game functions fine, just am concerned.

I've only started playing BG3 in the last month so I'm fairly certain my game is up to date and steam doesn't seem to think there's an update so I'm unsure what else to troubleshoot.

I'm honestly seeing the same issue for quite a bit aswell, I removed the data from app data folder.. replaced te file in /{install folder}\bin and that all changed nothing either.. So I'm a bit lost on troubleshooting aswell

I think that this is intentional to prevent Automatic Updates for security reasons or prevent update problems
probably you may update manually in the future
