(Note: Before uninstalling Ruby ensure that you have a working version of HomeBrew / LinuxBrew 🍺 ).
It is recommended to start with a clean install of Ruby.
On Ubuntu you can run the following command sequence apt-get purge ruby; apt-get autoremove
. (Note: be aware that apt-get purge
will not remove any configuration files located in your home directory - be sure to remove these manually if applicable)
- Install the latest vesion of rbenv and ruby-build using the instructions here. It is recommended to take time to read some of the rbenv documentation.
- Install Ruby 2.3.4 using the following command
rbenv install 2.3.4
- We use Bundler to manage our dependencies. download Bundler using the following command
gem install bundler
