It would be nice to have a quick edit field to quickly change beep pitch in the voice settings dialog, rather than edit the .ini directly.

Is there a problem with the current pitch? if so then perhaps we should instead be thinking about changing it all together. Speech mode beep pitch would be a rather advanced config option, and yet again this is a reason to consider where to place these more advanced things (I see many users get confused about options they feel they should understand but don't).

I personally find the 10000Hz to be irritating and shrill, especially over headphones. I set mine to 200 instead, for instance. There's always the manual, and people who don't understand the option should read the pertaining section or leave it alone, or experiment and the revert configs if they bust something.

Again, it's not a big deal, but I know a few people who would like this option and don't wish to edit .ini files, as trivial as it is to me and others.

Maybe an advanced dialog could be a solution to this? :)

I think something lover should be better. And for advanced settings - it is necessary to make sure to get user possibility to change settings which are really needed. Because if user will be able to set for example the lover HZ for progressbar indication, mouse indication, and whatever, we will end with lot of configuration managers and complicated tree with settings.

True, but...It's one edit box. Surely it makes sense to display most if not all settings to the user in some form or another? I agree, big trees of options and bloated configs result in bugs and degraded performance, but NVDA thankfully keeps it simple and doesn't have a million options cluttering up everything. :)

@michaelDCurran Based on #2487 (comment), you seem to be somewhat unconvinced about this feature request. the two comments after yours affect your take on this matter?

If I can raise a voice to the called, surely would vote for a setting to control the volume of the beeps, because in the current situation depending on the audio equipment used is very important to hear the beeps in a high volume.
The onecore voices, for example, are lower, forcing the volume to be high , making the beeps very comfortable.
If it is possible to control the volume of the other audios of the nvda would also be very good, but if there are great arguments for this only to control the volume of the beeps would be wonderful.

@fernando-jose-silva There is another ticket which deals entirely with the feature request of adding an Audio Manager to control the volume of all NVDA tones/beeps and sounds. Therefore, your suggestions in #2487 (comment) are already covered elsewhere.

The issue dealing with volume of NVDA sounds is #1409. This ticket is different, however, as it deals with the frequency of the beeps.

@michaelDCurran is it probable that NV Access implement a function like this? Or are there any plans to change the beeps to a more lovely sound?

Actually, I will close this as duplicate of #9308. The discussion in that issue is more detailed and the justifications for such a feature are more comprehensive.
