Long standing bug: $ gnplt -help Argument -help is not recognized. Use argument -help for instructions
There is currently only one option, -log logfile, but adding a -help option will make it more visible and eliminate the bug.
This problem has been present since the first version of gnplt(2), commit 5f7608d dated December 2008. It was apparently first released in FS 9.11.0, January 2013.
