Olive Crashes When Right Arrow One Frame on Subsequence #598
Comments
Hey, are you able to get |
In the AUR there are both @itsmattkc Does the |
I used the olive-git package sorry. Olive is the December stable in there. @itsmattkc |
|
Sorry to be so much trouble @oc1024 , but when I typed start (and hit enter) I didn't get a GUI with which to reproduce the crash.
When I just type olive-editor into the terminal I get a normal instance of Olive to work with |
@DaniSeeh Try I actually had no idea there was a new AUR package - I mean to be fair it looks like it was posted just yesterday. That's cool, I'm glad it can stay up to date now. @oc1024 Release builds do not have debug symbols. |
Here's the output of gdb. Hope it helps!
|
Oh. The AUR package's PKGBUILD is set up to build Olive in release mode, so there are no debug symbols.
|
Let me see if I can recreate this in an appimage or if it is specific to the AUR package |
The AppImage is a release build too I'm pretty sure - release builds are usually preferable because debug builds (in my experience) run a lot slower, and performance is fairly crucial to Olive. The downside though is you don't get much debug info. Are you able to compile Olive yourself? Using |
Haven't done it before, but I feel like to be an effective tester I'm going to have to learn! I'm not at my computer right now but when I get home I'll go over the instructions on the website and give it a shot |
I'm not 100% if I did it right, but the build is now 27d77ab and I built it myself with the debug command (I hope). Here is the gdp terminal output.
|
Yep there are debug symbols now! You just need to use |
Oh sorry, let me do that haha, forgot that step |
That's the part you needed right? |
By subsequence, do you mean an image sequence or a nested sequence? |
A nested sequence with pngs keyframe animated inside it |
Would you be able to send me this project with all of its media? |
Sure, it's only like 12 seconds right now. I'll put it on Google Drive and PM it to you. Just promise you won't share it anywhere haha, I will be putting it on my YouTube channel later. |
Haha no worries, I promise |
