Once the format of the Particle Patches has been decided in the standard

PIConGPU examples in 2D3V (17x13.6MB 21x10MB) and 3D3V (1x1.4GB 9x170130MB), including particle patches and ED-PIC extension, can be found at:

https://owncloud.hzdr.de/index.php/s/lOcGeYVBljbwk0P

with the password (read only) being openPMD.

Shall I create a PR for them? (argh, your files are so compact, I failed miserably!)

A PR would be great.
However, can you pick simulations parameters that produce smaller files? (In the case of the Warp files, I made them small by choosing a resolution much below what I would actually use in a production run.)

Will do.
How shall we organize / name them? We currently have Warp files in:

  • example-2d.tar.gz
  • example-3d.tar.gz
  • example-thetaMode.tar.gz

Maybe

  • Warp-2D3V.tar.gz
  • PIConGPU-2D3V.tar.gz
  • ...
    ?

Regarding the naming: that works fine.
NB: We will have to change the tutorial notebook in openPMD-viewer so that they still download the right files.

uploaded new smaller 3D3V files:

  • HDF5 (base, particle patched, ED-PIC)
  • ADIOS (base, ED-PIC)
