The Cloud Native Foundation is attempting to standardize feature flags so that users won’t be dependent on a particular implementation. Doing so allows users to change their choice if a different feature flag provider better meets future needs. Open Feature defines the concept of a provider. Providers are the translator between the flag evaluation calls made by the user, and openflagr.
