@bvdmitri - thanks for your submission to JOSS. We're currently managing a large backlog of submissions and the editor most appropriate for your area is already rather busy.

For now, we will need to waitlist this paper and process it as the queue reduces. Thanks for your patience!

Hey @arfon ! Thanks for your message! I think it sounds reasonable, we can wait a bit more. Can you tell (approximately) how long the waiting list is? Is is in the scale of days, weeks or months?

I would expect about another month or so (sorry). We put out a call for new editors and are reviewing those applications now but it will take some time to bring them onboard.
