Regarding: #1009

I won't get super wordy like I did in the first proposal, however I would like propose we have a secondary tracked budget for enabling open source projects to have upgraded and funded CI/CD infrastructure. Examples of this are:

  • GitHub Large Runners
  • macOS XL Runners
  • Paid GitHub Actions Budget

The goal here is to increase the velocity, reliability, and quality of life for our maintainers and contributors by having a faster running CI/CD pipeline that scales.

@rginn and I have an action item to meet and discuss about the Sovreign Tech Fund and then flesh out this github issue. So for now it can serve as a placeholder where I will add more details.

Big +1 here. I would also encourage Large Windows Runners as that would definitely be helpful for Node.js...

We're in a holding pattern as we work through the infrastructure work for our Sovereign Tech Fund initiative.

Tagging in @vvalderrv and @tykeal we discussed this being part of the infra workstream.

This could be part of our Sovereign Tech Fund infrastructure workstream. Let's table this for now and revisit after SFT progresses. CPC agreed to remove agenda label.
