Trying to debug issue where manual Definition and Symbol searches are turning up nothing with git based code but work fine with mercurial based code

Our opengrok server (OpenGrok v1.0 rev 2850968) which had our mercurial code base was working fine doing manual Definition and Symbol searches.

We then ported our code from mercurial to git and then reindexed OpenGrok and we noticed that Definition and Symbol searches seem to no longer work.

Would anyone have any suggestions on how to debug this or explain what might have gone wrong?

We are also current using git version 2.30.1

Any feedback would be greatly welcomed as we are currently stumped.
