I'm Kedasha, a Software Developer Advocate here at GitHub! 💃🏽

I currently live in Chicago, IL, USA, and love creating content to teach others and enjoy cooking and cuddling up with a good series (any suggestions?!). My goal is to dive into the world of Ruby because I want it to be my main language that I use for all things! It's such a fun and inviting space and I want to be a part of that.

I hope this community can be a place where we can all learn, feed our curiosities and build together.

My name is Kim; from New Orleans (I lived in New York for 19 years and recently moved back to New Orleans).

Currently, I am a teacher attempting to transition to tech. I would love to learn software development; without having to pay for it lol. I recently obtained my CSM in hopes of finding a non-tech "tech" role, so I would have the funds to do so.

I am super curious and self-motivated; I know nothing about coding and I'm super nervous.

I've actually filled out the application for 100Devs last weekend. I was considering a bootcamp that I would have to "pay back" through salary deductions, but I have three degrees that still aren't paid for🥹.

The new cohort in January; I hope I get in.

My name is Julian; from Birmingham, AL. Currently, I've been in Warehouse Management for about 13 years. Looking to transition into tech (pretty swiftly lol). I recently completed the Ed Farm Cohort bootcamp in November. My training focused on Swift, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I'm looking to get some practice in with coding with these languages and any other ones that are in demand.

My name is Chizorom (Cheeze), and I am from Lagos, Nigeria. I have been in IT for 5 years and would like to dive into Tech proper. Reviewed some programming languages and developed an interest in Ruby in 2021. However, my pc crashed and work was too demanding at the time, so I dropped halfway through.

I picked it up again in April and currently trying to get back at Ruby. I am so excited to find a community to work through this learning path together.

I am most definitely happy to be here! When are we starting? Lol!

My name is Ruchika Adhin, born in Suriname which is based in South America. Currently I'm working as accountant for Halliburton Caribbean. I have more then 5 years experience in the field of finance. After reflecting a lot about my life I discovered my life mission. My life mission is connecting people by bringing them closer to better chances or a better life. Being active in finance I wasn't feeding my soul enough or lets say I couldn't be creative at my fullest. I discovered with IT I can be creative and create innovative things that will contribute shaping the future.

I want to learn Ruby , because its one of the languages that is easy to learn (after. some research :P) I like simplicity. From this community I expect that we can be each other backbone and support each other.

Currently I'm learning also Java. Any recommendation is welcome to ease the "Java Journey". Last not least I love to eat and cook delicious food, do Zumba, explore nature and meet like minded people!

My name is Monica. I am from Diego-Suarez, Madagascar, and I currently live in Santiago, Chile. I have been mainly working in Digital Marketing for about 6 years, and since 2020 I’ve started to transition my career to be more focused on Product Design and Front-End Development (I am still curious about back-end though 👀). Currently, I also collaborate on freelance projects with local startups.

I learned Ruby (and ROR) during a Coding Bootcamp in 2021 but never used it afterward. I think this is a great opportunity for a refresh and practice along with a community!

Currently a stay at home mum to three boys and have a degree in Computer Science.

I have been doing web dev stuff and some other languages for years but never really got into tech but I am now at a point I want to dive right in.

Joke is I wanted to learn Python next but I saw the post to learn Ruby and I thought you know what lets take a little detour loool. So I am here ready to get stuck in and see where this takes me. Cant wait tbh because its different from web dev and love to learn new things. Python can wait a lil bit longer I suppose lol.

In my spare time, well the little spare time I can get I get stuck into my series or a bit of gaming.

My name is Jada from Philadelphia, PA. I have a background in Psychology with a focus in Mental Health and I am a recent boot camp graduate and looking to break into the tech industry.
I want to learn Ruby because I want a distraction from learning React, and I also wanted to add a whole new language to my tech stack. I enjoy collecting cookbooks (and cooking new dishes from said cookbooks) and I also enjoy playing on my switch.
