I only have one question about the measurement unit used to describe reflectance associated to the points cloud acquired with the rear and front LIDAR (for example returned by the function build_pointcloud). What does the reflectance value returned represent?
Usually reflectance is a percentage of reflected light for a given material, but in your function the value of reflectance does not represent a percentage. With little inspection I find that values are between 101 and ~2000, with a mean value around 400.
