The Origami Definition Language isn't just about the end result. It's a description of the journey to get there. Experienced Origami artists are able to fold figures from just looking at a crease pattern on a flat piece of paper. The Origami Definition Language is for those who are enthusiastic about Origami, but aren't at that level of expertise.

To accommodate everyone, Origami DL could strive to support the following output formats:

  • Interpreted and visualized as a set of instructions (original reason for starting this project)
  • Visualized as a crease pattern
  • Converted to a FOLD file
