Hi! I would like to know more about the license planned for Unoverso-libre. And also, while I am here, what is the progress of the work as I would like to publish it on my website https://usemodify.com. Thanks! Great project.

Hello, Salut Raphaël,

I want it to be a very open open-source license but I don't really know which to choose from, so if you have a suggestion I'm open to ideas @raphaelbastide .

About the progress, I have an updated version of the font somewhere but I need to have a look through my files. It's a version from last year and this project is currently unmaintained. I do plan to work on it again in the future but I'd restart on clean bases and open a new repo.

You're free to host it on your website but I wouldn't really consider the project production ready, so it's currently as-is for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for the interest!

Hey @oxomoto, that’s very cool to know it will evolve, as it is already very cool.

For the license, I would advise SIL OFL, but it has some serious downsides, some libre foundries are requestioning 1 2. But OFL has become kind of a standard, and other free software license can't really cover the drawing nature of typefaces. You can also put it in public domain, but it will also suffer from the sames problems than OFL + might be incompatible with some author rights (like we have in France for instance).

I will wait for the release on U&M, and keep an eye on this repo. Thanks!
