guake mode sometimes fails to show

I'm using finalterm in guake mode under gnome 3.8 and with plank, but if I press the F12 key to show it, it doesn't show, but I just receive a notification that the window request attention. Using Alt+Tab can change to it.

Have the same issue with latest PPA build with Ubuntu Unity. After pressing F12 new window is showed in docker, highlighted to show it needs attention. But it is not visible and has no focus.

I cant Alt+Tab to it though.

Do either of you use the guake terminal itself? Does the hotkey work for you in guake?

The hotkey works fine in guake. I use it.
