Hi,

I've just found that building my project with jinja2 version 3.1.0 results in broken behaviour:

To replicate the bug, just install Jinja2 version 3.1.0 and run from jinja2 import escape.

I currently restored jinja2 version 3.0.3 to not have the issue.

Environment:

  • Python version: 3.8.10
  • Jinja version: 3.1.0
