<div type="commentary" subtype="frontmatter" xml:space="preserve"><p>Fragment of a medical treatise dealing with the interrelationship between regimen and the etiology of diseases. Varying nutritional capabilities are noted (ll. 1-3), as well as diets that are both moist and dry (ll. 3-5). On ancient theories of regimen cf. <listBibl><bibl><ref target="http://www.papirologia.unipr.it/CPGM/biblio.html#joly1960">Joly 1960</ref></bibl></listBibl>; <listBibl><bibl><ref target="http://www.papirologia.unipr.it/CPGM/biblio.html#wöhrle1990">Wöhrle 1990</ref></bibl></listBibl>. Papyrus scrap (5.9x6 cm) from the top of a column (the upper margin [2.3 cm] and the right-hand intercolumnium [0.3-0.7 cm] survive, whereas the left-hand intercolumnium and the lower margin are lost). The supplements at ll. 2-4 show that the column was ca. 5.9 cm wide [ca. 22 letters]), copied on the recto along the fibers in a small-sized, round, informal bookhand with markedly bilinear letters (cf. e.g. BKT 2=CPF 3.9; P.Amh. 2.15; P.Harr. 1.38), likely from a literary roll of pre-Galenic date.</p><p><note type="footnote" xml:lang="en">This papyrus has been digitally edited by Isabella Bonati as part of the Project "DIGMEDTEXT - Online Humanities Scholarship: A Digital Medical Library based on Ancient Texts" (ERC-AdG-2013, Grant Agreement no. 339828) funded by the European Research Council at the University of Parma (Principal Investigator: Prof. Isabella Andorlini).
