At home, I have one of those cheesy Linux keyboards from Cherry
and a G700s Logitech mouse.
Cherry keyboards remain my favorites, mostly because I've gotten really used to the switches they use.
At work, I have a wired, external Mac keyboard with a numpad, but I don't like a whole lot. I've recently switched from a Magic Mouse to the same mouse I have at home and I'm so happy about that switch, Magic Mice are great to look at but nothing else.
I can highly recommend the G700s. It has four configurable thumb keys and most importantly, is wireless, but you can attach a standard Micro USB cable if you run out of battery. The battery is a standard AA cell, so you can just charge them externally too, if you want to. It's one of those things where you just ask yourself why not everyone does it like this.
