Linux 4.2.0 Version on the Homepage isn't Working #16
Comments
Same here: Version 4.2.0 is not working with native REAPER or Ardour 5.12 under Debian Stretch. |
@codecollider maybe #14 (comment) does the job with Ardour? At least, it works for me here (Ardour 5.12, Tunefish 4.2.0, debian Stretch) |
Just tested v4.2.0 in carla on linux and the plugin is not picked up when scanning. Have not tried any other version of the vst |
Which "linux" ? |
This was on a Kxstudio installation based on Ubuntu 14.04.6 LTS now running Kernel 3.13.0-167-lowlatency I also tested the previous 4.1.0 but got libstdc++.so.6 version CXXABI_1.3.8 not found.. I guess you are requiring very recent distros and specific versions of libs to successfully run these VSTs ? |
Do you have reported this to the KXstudio people ? (ie: falktx)
Not sure, it works here on Debian Stretch (which isn't a "very recent" distro). Note that there is a LV2 forked version of Tunefish. |
Ubuntu 14.04 hit end of life this month, and has been more or less unusable (for me) for at least a year - I still have a few VMs that I need to migrate.
Upgrading might be a good idea, at least from a security update perspective.

I know the distro is quite old but everything else is running fine, including every U-he vst that was available and built just a couple of weeks ago. I also run Pianoteq lv2 and a lot of up to date stuff.

I have not had any trouble with my kxstudio laptop but I am running only kxstudio stuff and U-he and pianoteq and the computer is a dedicated gig laptop so it is rarely online an uppgrading will be just an other laptop with a more recent debian/ubuntu + kxstudio Thanks for the suggestions, (also to opless)

Same here on Ubuntu 18.04, when I try to load tunefish 4.2 in Renoise:
|
Latest Beta (2019.01.22) from Homepage still isn't working (Bitwig 3.2 B5, Tracktion 7), 5.3.0-51-lowlatency #44~18.04.2-Ubuntu. I'd really like to have a look at this Synth! Bitwig throws: |
For information, the LV2 version works here on a LibraZiK-3. Tested in jalv 1.6.0, Qtractor 0.9.12, and Ardour 5.12. |
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! I don't work with those. My hope is Bitwig will implement LV2 at some point. |
You can probably work around by using carla as a VST in Bitwig. Then you load tunefish-lv2 inside carla. |
Thank you for your suggestions again, I'm using the Windowsversion with https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge now. I seems just like a shame to do so, when there is a native Linuxversion. |
@trebmuh Where do you get the LV2 version from? On the website I can only see the VST version |
There is a link to the LV2 version repo a few messages above. |
