I'm not sure if they is the right place to ask this question,
but is there any documentation about the format of the authority files (in RDF),
what is expected of each attribute and how they are used in the
application?
There is of course an example that applies to places, but what
about persons and events? Or do I incorrectly assume that
persons and events are also authority controlled (as annotations
can be typed as an event of person).
Thanks!

Recogito currently doesn't handle any authority files beyond gazetteers (because there are presently no UI components for people or event search). While the UI allows you to type your annotations as places, people or events, authority file resolution is currently only implemented for places.
Some preparatory work has started on the internal architecture, and we are currently discussing how to potentially fund the development work for extending this in the future.
Just to add: if you would like to be part of the discussion, or even development, please do let us know. We are looking to work with others to take this forward: you would be most welcome.
