I don't seem to be able to decompress it myself. Do you have the uncompressed version at hand ? |
That is the problem. The page sends the decompressed version only, so no, sorry, no decompressed version at hand. You can't try to walk through the decompressFromBase64 method and see where it goed wrong ? |

Well, it goes wrong somewhere but I have no way of knowing if it is the compression or the decompression that had a problem in the first place - or if the String you gave me can ever be produced by the lib. It might be a network issue or anything else. I'm going to do some bruteforce test to see if I can reproduce this - a string that gives a compressed version that cannot be decompressed.. |
Fair enough, I'll see if I can log the orginal string before it is compressed and then send you both when the errors occurs again. It happens +/- once in a week (depending on activity) so as soon as I have a version I will send it over. |

Good. On my end I've launched a few hundred of millions of compressions of random strings, and all decompress to the same string (using base64). Maybe the random strings I'm using don't trigger the bug... I was using Chrome. I hope there is no sensitive informations in those strings, so we can get to the bottom of it quickly. |
Hi, you can close this ticket. Appareantly is was because an onclick event was fired twice and so the original string was compressed twice. Thx for your quick support... |
Hi,
we have a webpage that compresses a generated JSONObject with the compressToBase64 method.
This is send over to the server where we use lz-string4java to decompress.
Sometes a compressToBase64 string fails to decompress.
So we tried to decompressFromBase64 using this javascript library to see if this in an error in the Java port or an error in this library ?
We can't decompress the example below with this library.
Could you have look and see what the problem is ?

The compressed string is send over in a Ajax Post request (where the string below and some other info is encodeURIComponent before added to the request body).
