Comment #1 originally posted by pixelb on 2009-09-25T09:30:00.000Z: Sorry, this is not a defect but a request for enhancement. |
Comment #2 originally posted by pixelb on 2009-09-29T12:05:23.000Z: The filter is actually applied to the whole path. Note in future versions I'm looking to improve the directory merging functionality by |
(originally posted by xnicholas) The filter is not applied to whole path. Not as of 2.42 on ubuntu english. this is a HIGHLY needed priority. |
Yes, path matching rules are mentioned in the FAQ: I guess I should make this more obvious somehow. |
Maybe it would be good to have a short description below the wildcard box in the pop-up? Actually, I think the FAQ doesn't mention this. It only mentions how to exclude a whole path. https://github.com/pixelb/fslint/blob/master/doc/FAQ |
Original issue 41 created by pixelb on 2009-09-25T09:29:12.000Z:
OS: Ubuntu 8.10 2.6.27-14-generic
recent FSlint version unknown since no 'Info' dialog available
Request:
Please add wildcard selection of file by path.
Current situation:
Currently, the filter is applied only to the filename.
Problem:
I have to merge several filesystems of which one has been used as backup,
inconsistently. So I have mostly the same data in different directory
trees, but some of the structure / files have been changed.
A first step in merging is to remove the duplicates in a specific directory
tree.
