Is your feature request related to a problem?

The company I work for does not allow us to use Postman w/ an account as they do not want their API calls stored on the cloud so we heavily relied on Scratch Pad for that functionality and exporting those collections and storing them in source control along with environment files for our different environments.

Since the release of v10.18, it has removed my teams ability to continue using Postman and now we will have to see about moving to another client and convert our collection of api calls to a new platform.

Describe the solution you'd like

The ability to downgrade to the previous version of Postman which supported Scratch Pad.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Abandoning Postman for another client.

Additional context

We cannot create an account on Postman due to security concerns within the company policy.

For those interested, you can download v10.1.1 here,

MacOS: https://dl.pstmn.io/download/version/10.1.1/osx64 [Dead]
Win64: https://dl.pstmn.io/download/version/10.1.1/win64 [Dead]

Seems as though the Postman team decided to screw everyone over and removed the downloads for downgrading so the above links are dead.

Thank you for the links, I was also trying to find it earlier

Now I need to find way to completely disable updating
because I already turned off update from the setting back when they announced the deprecation
but somehow when I launch it today Postman STILL update to latest version and the panel for collection is then gone

Developers are being scumbags and removing data if you refuse to create an account. They're also deleting old releases to make downgrading impossible. This software and its developers can no longer be trusted.

Last week, as usual, I opened Postman to re-call the adjusted interface for testing. However, after Postman automatically upgraded, it forced me to log in. The company I work for prohibits logging in, which resulted in me being unable to use it. At first, I thought I had clicked something wrong. After some trouble, I found that I could no longer return to the familiar collection interface. So, I uninstalled Postman and reinstalled an earlier version using a previously saved installation package. As a result, all my configurations (collections/requests/environment) disappeared. This was a terrible experience because I lost all my configurations in the work environment. I am very angry at Postman for forcing me to log in so recklessly and brutally.

No, when I can't goto scratch, I'm looking for any button from UI, and yes I ignore the notice as usually, I try to click the "Light API Client" becsuse it's look like the door open scratch, then something terrible has happened!! All my collection was gone. I'm anger, I uninstall the newest version, and reinstall old version what stay in my computer, and the are not back. I have to reimport my backup a few months ago. I thought it would always be there if I didn't delete it, I was naive.

Today, I search info about postman from google, the latest scratch available is v10.18.7, but it's can't import for new, so the really latest version is v10.13.6. how ever, I think the v9.31.28(or v9.4.1 for win32) is a conservative choose, and The installation package is kept in my computer lucky. But at finally I choose v9.32.28 and find the win64 installation by google, It's has feature "Comments in JSON Body are now ignored when sending the request - #3358", I like it.

By the way, the win32 installation was kept in original, I guess it because there always some customer use win32.

Updated my 2nd post with a new link for osx64 since they decided to remove the files to prevent people from downloaded.

Lost days of work due to the Postman interruption. Uninstalled postman and switched to Imsomnia. It doesn't require login or forced sync.

@Anutrix Check out https://github.com/ArchGPT/insomnium. Better than Imsomnia :) more info on the link

@argenstijn I just to switched to insomnia. Didn't ask for account creation yet so will use it since it's been around longer. Probably because I can just needed my collections which are present on launchpad.
However, Insomnium seems new and cool. Maybe I'll contribute to it and switch to it eventually.

Do you perhaps have a link to osx_arm64 version of the same?

Hint for people using Postman: remove the write and modify privileges for your user on the program folder of postman. That prevents the program from downloading and applying the update. If you install it in your user context, its on c:\users(username)Appdata\Local\Postman

Another WTF moment in 2024.
They may have some reasons according to the Blog entry.
But removing downloads for older versions makes it more look like a monetizing effort.
And unfriendly as it results in hours lost for a lot of people including myself.
This cloud sync has been a security concern for Enterprise Developers all the time - if syncing anywhere it has to be our own cloud or GIT for heavens sake. Now i will have to tell my supplier to stop using Postman and we will also give insomnium a try.

I didn't have my collections after downgrading but luckily Postman made a JSON backup when it upgraded. I found it in the Postman config folder and was able to re-import it after downgrading: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47399809/where-are-postman-collections-saved

I've not launched Postman in a couple of months. Imagine my surprise when I open it up and have lost years of data! The login they have for me isn't even a valid email. I've tried every email I own, none of them contain my data. Trying to import scratch pad says "no data! you're all set!" This is a shame. Guess ill be looking for alternatives.
