App specific key mappings not excluded for Spotlight/Alfred

I mapped k/j to up/down arrow keys in Preview.app using "type": "frontmost_application_if". But when Spotlight or Alfred is called when using Preview.app, Preview.app is still the "frontmost application". So now I can't type "karabiner"(with a "k") to the Spotlight/Alfred text field.

Done a little search with no luck. Is there a way to solve/workaround this?
