  1. highlight a file in nerdtree (such as a spreadsheet.ods)
  2. press [m] to open the menu
  3. press [o] to "open the current node with system editor"
  4. VIM becomes unresponsive
  5. close the opened program (libreoffice)
  6. VIM is responsive again

I have this same problem with other file types & other programs. I am using SpaceVim in NeoVim.

I assume I can change this through a configuration, but I cannot figure it out or find any answers online.

P.S. Would be cool to use rifle, but just getting it non-blocking is all I really need.

Would also be great if it would be possible to set the system editor like the netrw setting
