Asterisk and Siphon 1.2 #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Update to Siphon 1.2
2. Go to Settings, and configure to register with a Asterisk PBX

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected registration to succeed, but it doesn't :-) The attached
capture shows that Siphon successfully replied to the 401 Asterisk sent,
and received a 200 OK.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Siphon 1.2 on a iPhone with firmware 1.1.4
Asterisk 1.2.26 on Linux

Please provide any additional information below.
See the attached capture file. The 200 OK is packet #10. Does Siphon
expect any header to be set to something else ?

I don't understand where is the problem.
Your iPhone (I think 192.168.100.108) tried to register on Asterisk
(192.168.100.30).
Asterik replied authorization/authentication is required (msg 401).
iPhone replied with his digest. Normally, you should can call.

How did you see the registration doesn't succerd ?

Even though it received the 200 OK, Siphon keeps displaying "Please connect to
SIP-Server" and the dial pad doesn't let me enter any number. Because of that,
I am
unable to call any number.
I thought it was a SIP validation issue, but maybe it's just a GUI issue ? Is
there
any way to get it to generate a log ?

By the way, I reverted to v1.1 and now can't see v1.2 in the Installer any
more. Was
it pulled back ?

I have found when using other sip clients like that on a nokia phone, to login
to an
asterisk server the 'realm' needs to be set to 'asterisk' - not sure if this is
relevant.

Logically realm is defined by the server, so for the moment pjsip uses realm
sent by
server. It's possible to define a realm in source code, but it's necessary to
recompile siphon application.

You should verify the correct realm with network analyzer (wireshark for
example).

In the future version I think, it will must an advanced mode to define all
parameters
(port, realm,...)

In the capture I attached, Siphon did authenticate correctly against the realm
Asterisk specified. Other UAs handle multiple sets of user credentials, and the
realm
helps differentiate them.
Samuel, do you think the problem is with the stack, or the UI not being
notified the
registration succeeded ?
Are you planning to add some sort of logging to Siphon ? I am quite happy to
help
getting to the bottom of this.

I released Siphon 2 on Cydia (bigboss repository).
Did you test it ? Do you still have the same issue ?

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I have the latest Siphon installed, but currently
don't
have access to any Asterix PBX to try it with.

Don't worry, I think there are several users who use Siphon 2. So I'm hoping
that
someone would have reported this issue.
