If I’ve learned anything from dueling pianos, the larger amounts spent come from wanting to stop a song rather than the desire to get the next song played.
A skip feature would be interesting in this context.

This is a very interesting feature suggestion, thank you! I've thought about it and I see one major drawback with it. The playback is shared among all listeners (like a radio). So even if the skip cost 10-100x more than what was paid for the song, it still feels so harsh to the person who put the song in.
One option would be adding an optional field when someone is picking a song that is 'refund address'. If someone includes a lightning address, and their song gets skipped, they get their sats sent back to the lightweight address. The person skipping still needs to pay more than that to skip it, so, it still a net positive, but the person being skipped isn't out anything.
