Hi qB,
I started using qB since a month. Since then I have been observing that the settings that I have opted got reset once the system reboots.

setting here I refer to

  1. start windows minimized
  2. minimize qBittorrent to notification area
  3. close qBittorrent to notification area

Again, the RSS feed is also missing every time system reboots. This is very much annoying. Time and again its very difficult thing to add RSS addresses into qB.

I want to know is this the problem for me or not. Or am I missing anything to make the above said to be constant. Please some one answer and try to rectify my problems.

Thanks in advance
kkbbcc.

If you manually exit qbt does it save it's settings? (File->Exit)

Yes, If I manually exit as you said, settings stay. but if I restart or
shutdown and start or system reboots settings are reset.

This may seem totally unrelated but could you try disabling ipv6 before rebooting?

Run these instructions in the terminal:

netsh interface ipv6 6to4 set state disabled default
netsh interface ipv6 isatap set state disabled
netsh interface ipv6 set teredo disabled

Then reboot the OS while qbt is running and check if it saved it's settings.

To reenable ipv6 run the same commands but instead of 'disabled' enter 'enabled'

So what's the problem? Open a terminal window and input the commands...
Unless they removed the terminal from WIndows 8.

Ok. "terminal" here referred to "command prompt" ... I did as you said you.
I will let you know after I reboot my system. Thanks for the replies.

My Laptop got rebooted itself because of low battery. In this case the
settings are reset. Does it have any solution?

I want to be really sure with this, so please bear with me. You earlier said that you already exited once manually and settings were preserved. No you tell me that you ran the above commands and it seems to work after rebooting. Does that mean that you changed the settings between your manual exit and your automatic one? If not, can you please eg enable 2-3 extra columns and reboot. Do these columns continue to be enabled after reboot?

My Laptop got rebooted itself because of low battery. In this case the settings are reset. Does it have any solution?

Update to v3.1.8, which has fixed a bug that affects this behavior.
