Often, I need to repeatedly select some features and update the same attribute; the best way is to use Field Calculator.
Now I do not need to always do 3 steps: 1 check Update existing field, 2 selecting field from the drop-down, 3 input value or equotation or select it from the Recent.

I wish the Field calculator remembers my last input.
Alternatively, there could be a checkbox in the Field Calculator: Remember my last input

It would improve productivity and lower human-induced errors.

Hi,
Why don't you use the quick calculator bar https://docs.qgis.org/2.18/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/attribute_table.html#using-the-quick-field-calculation-bar (not written in the docs and can not check right now but i think it also provides latest value)?
