Original Redmine Issue: 20407

Some mdal providers, have multiple quantities/variables stored in one file. It will be good to prompt the user to select only the ones they want to be displayed. This is similar feature as loading a netcdf using gdal. Or when trying to load a geopackage containing multiple layers.
