Synchronize with other player restarts current song

One difference I've noticed between squeezelite and a real Squeezebox is when I sync another player mid song. With real Squeezeboxes, there is a slight glitch, and then the song continues. With squeezelite, however, the song restarts from the beginning.

I am using it with logitechmediaserver-7.9.0-0.88.20150815git1439462737

Any ideas?

What version of squeezelite and what OS?
Are you running squeezelite on the same computer that is running LMS?

I regularly listen to multiple instances of synchronized Squeezelite.  In one case a master instance of Squeezelite runs on the same host as LMS and I either power on or start various remote Squeezelites and Android SqueezePlayer, all synced to the master Squeezelite. I have never experienced any player starting the current song again from scratch.  This behavior has stayed the same through multiple LMS versions from 7.7 through 7.9.0, and multiple Squeezelite versions. Is there a LMS setting that covers restarting songs when new players are added? I'm running squeezelite 986, on Fedora 26. The LMS is running on a separate computer.

It can't be a LMS setting, as my physical Squeezeboxes don't restart the songs when they sync with each other.

Well, I've just retested it, in an attempt to ascertain the circumstances under which it goes wrong. And just now it's working perfectly.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't imagining the errant behaviour, but until I can reproduce it here, you may want to close this as a non-issue (for now).

Ah, it's happening again. I will attempt to qualify when it happens. Perhaps best to leave this open after all. ;-)
