Naming convention: Artists/Album, The #1270
Comments
This is possible for artistnames, use $SortArtist. For albums, it is not. Searching should be easy in most music players, no matter what the placement is for 'The' or 'A' and the like. |
I didn't know about $SortArtist, thanks for that. The thing is, I mount my NAS as webshare on my PC and browse through the files if I need something like albums/songs. It would be much more convenient if the albums had proper naming like I suggested, otherwise it can take a while to find the album you're looking for depending on the size of your collection. |
Hmm, I have a hard time vizualising your directory tree, because it sounds to me that you have all albums in one directory. If you have albums prefixed or seperated by artist names, it should not be that hard to find the album you need. Otherwise, please help me understand your situation. :) By the way and for what it's worth, from what I found in the code, |
Never mind, it was me who misunderstood. My directory tree is in fact /artistname/albums so $SortArtist fixes that. |
Sorry if this is a duplicate but I couldn't find any issues like this.
I would like to suggest the naming convention of Artists/Album, The. Right now the 'The' is placed in front which isn't really handy when sorting/earching artists/albums.
e.g. The Weeknd
This should be "Weeknd, The"
