Automatic Links / Images Paste Formatting button toggle without losing focus.

Would it be possible for the Automatic Links / Images Paste Formatting button in the Comment Formatting Helper to work without losing focus in the editor?

Often I have some text already selected only to find out the button is in the wrong state for what I want to do (I use it in both the on and off position, about 50/50).

It would be really nice that after clicking the button I wouldn't have to select text again or place the cursor back where it was.

I don't get this.

Type "two words" in the comments box and then click the Automatic Links / Images Paste Formatting button. Now you can't continue typing cause the 'focus' is no longer on the textarea element. It would be really nice if after clicking the button the focus gets returned; preferably to the exact spot where it was.
