Release wlandau-lilly's updates faster #21

At my company, I am leading a group of folks from stats and IT to modernize the way we do open source. We are currently in the final stages of implementing a new open source software governance procedure. When approved, it will allow people like me to just push updates to open source projects without any bureaucratic holdup. For pre-approved projects like this one, I will be able to simply develop and contribute just like everybody else. The new procedure has not launched yet, but I have every reason to believe that it will eventually. Stay tuned. We have has iterated on the document as a group since July, and the gatekeepers from management, etc. are in the process of reading it and signing off. Some of those iterations have already happened, and I think there is little to no editing left to do. A few people still need to look at it, so I cannot exactly predict the timeline (my rough guess is two or three weeks from now), but we are close. |
The new open source procedure was just approved at my company. I can now just develop |
I work for an old-fashioned company in a highly-regulated industry. Every time I want to change the code, I have to go through a disclosure process that usually takes several weeks.
**However, I can and will accept pull requests. All known issues and new ideas are fair game.
My colleagues and I are working to change the rules so we can update our own work at a reasonable pace. Until then, many thanks for your patience.
