rospack find doesn't work with meta packages.
Is it a design decision to not support meta packages?

I have the same issue. rospack find <metapackage> returns an error. But roscd works. Is that supposed to be like that?

E.g.

$ rospack find ros_comm
[rospack] Error: stack/package ros_comm not found

A metapackage is considered as a stack (from pre-catkin days)
rosstack find will work as excepted.
