I use Easy Watermark for making a secure copy of my ID card as an alternative to the closed source app KopieID developed by Milvum on behalf of the Dutch Government.

When a copy is requested, most of the time not all information on the ID card is needed by the receiving party. The Dutch government recommends to blank out the unnecessary information. KopieID provides that functionality. Easy Watermark currently has no option for blanking or obfuscating part of the image.

It would be nice to have that option in Easy Watermark, making it a fully featured alternative for the closed source KopieID. Currently, the only option is to edit the image before using it in Easy Watermark. That's cumbersome.

I'm sorry to be so late in responding to you. If I understand you correctly, you mean that you want EasyWatermark to provide a feature to watermark only a specific area, not the whole image?

Thank you for getting back.

The black area below "document no." is what I'm looking for. I added it after using EasyWatermark, hence the black box covering the watermark. I would like to be able to add the black box in EasyWatermark, so the watermark can be drawn on top of it.

This is the official specimen for the Dutch document, which contains more information on the back side. I couldn't find a usable specimen for the back of the card. But there are some examples in the gallery of the KopiID app, I linked above.

Ok, I have understood. It looks like you need a black mask feature in order to completely cover the original information of the photo, yes?

Yes, that's correct.

Awsome, I'll seriously consider this new feature. Since it conficts with batch mode in the UX, it won't come to fruition that quickly. Anyway thanks again!

Thank you very much. Take your time. I've got no experience with Android development. Otherwise, I would have given it a shot myself.
