I need to think about either fixing my sitemap generation so it can work with large and small sites or remove it from project.

One idea would be to crawl the publication folder rendering results into an SQLite3 table. The table could then be used to assembl one or more sitemap.xml files appropriately. This will allow for large websites as well as my hobby stuff.
