Leaflet + D3js: Hexbin

Hello,
Thanks for this awesome package.
I usually use R for spatial data analysis but I am not familiar with D3 scripts.
I wonder if it would be possible to include D3js: Hexbin in leaflet with r2d3?
If possible, it would be great to have a section depicting that case.

I second that - an example of how to use the D3 Hexbin plugin with r2d3 would be great! I am trying to figure it out but having no success.
