warpd is cannot be launched since: "C-o is not a valid key name"

warpd -f
gives the output:
Starting warpd v1.3.5-osx (built from: effea40) ERROR: C-o is not a valid key name

None of the warpd activation keys work.
config file is empty

Want to add that I'm not using C-o as shortcut in any other apps

I stumbled across a similar issue. When I start warpd in foreground, it sometimes says the following.

>> warpd -f
Starting warpd v1.3.5-osx (built from: effea40)
ERROR: A-M-x is not a valid key name
