I can't seem to get a symlink of the form foo -> . to work (ln -s . foo). Using / as a target doesn't work either. I have a .nojekyll file, so I'm a bit stumped. Any ideas?

If it were possible to symlink to the root dir, then we'd need no more git subtree tricks to deploy /dist.
