If you're going for the standard "Hatchet + Tree = all logs fall down": I've seen mentioned somewhere on a tree-related mod to have the durability of said axe go down the number of logs counted in the tree. Plausible?

Possibly.

I've been talking with mDyo about a couple of ideas...bark gathering, multiple breaks to fell a tree...all kinds of things...I just need to distill it down to the right idea.

I like the "break a log, the rest fall down a space" method better than the "break a log the entire tree breaks" method.

like this idea. knock down the bottom-most piece of wood will make it fall down. (animation? lol). now its a fallen tree with rotated logs.

I've decided not to pursue this in the interest of game balance. There are other mods for this specific purpose that can be compatible with this mod using forge hooks.
