<lb ed="#L" n="47"/>ad res humanas derivatur ut id quod contra
ali<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="48"/>quid insurgit, ab eo detrimentum patiatur.
Vide<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="49"/>mus enim in rebus naturalibus quod unum
con<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="50"/>trarium vehementius agit, altero contrario
super<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="51"/>veniente: propter quod aquae calefactae magis
<lb ed="#L" n="52"/>congelantur, ut dicitur in I Meteor. Unde in
<lb ed="#L" n="53"/>hominibus hoc ex naturali inclinatione invenitur,
<lb ed="#L" n="54"/>ut unusquisque deprimat eum qui contra ipsum
<lb ed="#L" n="55"/>insurgit. Manifestum est autem quod quaecumque
<lb ed="#L" n="56"/>continentur sub aliquo ordine, sunt quodammodo
<lb ed="#L" n="57"/>unum in ordine ad principium ordinis. Unde
quid<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="58"/>quid contra ordinem aliquem insurgit, consequens
<lb ed="#L" n="59"/>est ut ab ipso ordine, vel ! principe ordinis,
depri<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="60"/>matur. Cum autem peccatum sit actus inordinatus,

<lb ed="#L" n="62"/>aliquem ordinem agit. Et ideo ab ipso ordine

<lb ed="#L" n="66"/>humana voluntas, triplici poena potest homo
pu<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="67"/>niri. Primo quidem enim subditur humana natura
<lb ed="#L" n="68"/>ordini propriae rationis; secundo, ordini
exterio<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="69"/>ris hominis gubernantis vel spiritualiter vel
tem<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="70"/>poraliter, politice seu oeconomice; tertio,
subdi<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="71"/>tur universali ordini divini regiminis. Quilibet
<lb ed="#L" n="72"/>autem horum ordinum per peccatum pervertitur:

conse<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="79"/>quitur peccatum inquantum malum est, ratione
<lb ed="#L" n="80"/>suae inordinationis. Unde sicut malum est per
<lb ed="#L" n="81"/>accidens in actu peccantis, praeter intentionem
<lb ed="#L" n="82"/>ipsius, ita et reatus poenae.

<lb ed="#L" n="84"/>iusta esse potest et a Deo, et ab homine inflicta:

<lb ed="#L" n="86"/>sed solum dispositive. Sed peccatum facit

<lb ed="#L" n="17"/>2N,eas homines reducantur ad bonum
vir<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="18"/>tutis, ut patet per Philosophum, in X Ethic. Sed

vir<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="20"/>tutis, sed in oppositum. Ergo peccatum non est

<lb ed="#L" n="23"/>per Augustinum, in libro Octoginta trium Quaest.
<lb ed="#L" n="24"/>Peccatum autem non est a Deo, et est iniustum.
<lb ed="#L" n="25"/>Non ergo peccatum potest esse poena peccati.

<lb ed="#L" n="27"/>contra voluntatem. Sed peccatum est a
volun<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="28"/>tate, ut ex supradictis patet. Ergo peccatum non
<lb ed="#L" n="29"/>potest esse poena peccati.

duplici<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="34"/>ter loqui possumus: per se, et per accidens. Per
<lb ed="#L" n="35"/>se quidem nullo modo peccatum potest esse poena
<lb ed="#L" n="36"/>peccati. Peccatum enim per se consideratur
secun<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="37"/>dum. quod egreditur a voluntate: sic enim habet
<lb ed="#L" n="38"/>rationem culpae. De ratione autem poenae est
<lb ed="#L" n="39"/>quod sit contra voluntatem, ut in Primo
habi<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="40"/>tum est. Unde manifestum est quod nullo modo,
<lb ed="#L" n="41"/>per se loquendo, peccatum potest esse poena
<lb ed="#L" n="42"/>peccati.

<lb ed="#L" n="44"/>poena peccati, tripliciter. Primo quidem, ex parte
<lb ed="#L" n="45"/>causae quae est remotio prohibentis. Sunt. enim
<lb ed="#L" n="46"/>causae inclinantes ad peccatum passiones,
tenta<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="47"/>tio diaboli, et alia huiusmodi; quae quidem
cau<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="48"/>sae impediuntur per auxilium divinae gratiae,
<lb ed="#L" n="49"/>quae subtrahitur per peccatum. Unde cum ipsa
<cb ed="#L" n="f"/>
<lb ed="#L" n="50"/>subtractio gratiae sit quaedam poena, et a Deo,
<lb ed="#L" n="51"/>ut supra dictum est; sequitur quod per
acci<lb break="no" ed="#L" n="52"/>dens etiam peccatum quod ex hoc sequitur, poena
<lb ed="#L" n="53"/>dicatur. Et hoc modo loquitur Apostolus, Rom. i
<lb ed="#L" n="54"/>dicens: Propter quod tradidit eos. Deus in

<lb ed="#L" n="58"/>semper peccatum dicitur esse poena praecedentis
<lb ed="#L" n="59"/>peccati. - Alio modo, ex parte substantiae actus,
<lb ed="#L" n="60"/>quae afflictionem inducit: sive sit actus interior,
<lb ed="#L" n="61"/>ut patet in ira et invidia; sive actus exterior,
<lb ed="#L" n="62"/>ut patet cum aliqui gravi labore opprimuntur et
<lb ed="#L" n="63"/>damno, ut expleant actum peccati, secundum
